Your Face, Lord, Do I Seek: Lenten Meditations From the School of Theology

As the Lenten season approaches, Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology (ICSST) is pleased to continue its annual tradition of daily meditations, this year inspired by Psalm 27:8, "Your face, Lord, do I seek." 

Day by day, the series will offer meditations and prayers to help participants enter more deeply into the Lenten season. Reflections will focus on the gaze of Christ in powerful ways, contemplating how He beckons us to draw close and experience His great love. 

Authored by Monsignor Gerard McCarren, S.T.D., rector/dean, Monsignor Joseph Reilly, S.T.L., Ph.D., vice provost for Academics and Catholic Identity, and Dianne Traflet, J.D., S.T.D., associate dean for Graduate Studies and Administration and assistant professor of Pastoral Theology, meditations will begin on Ash Wednesday, February 14, and continue through Holy Thursday, March 28. 

"During this sacred season of Lent, we are called to turn our hearts toward the Lord. By focusing on Psalms 27:8, reflections will invite participants to go beyond routine and seek the face of the Lord in our daily lives," said Dianne Traflet. "We welcome all interested to join us as we deepen our understanding of Christ’s presence in our lives and allow His love to illuminate our hearts."

Since 2019, ICSST has offered reflection series during the Advent and Lenten seasons, bringing more than 2,400 subscribers together including Seton Hall students, faculty, staff, administrators and other members of the surrounding community from near and far to join in a union of prayer and reflection during these key liturgical seasons.
